Event Samsung¡¯s Staron® Solid Surface is the Right Surface for the Road
LOS ANGELES – Samsung, a world-class leader in technology and manufacturer of Staron® Solid Surfaces will participate in RVtoday¡¯s RV Rescue Makeover event happening April 7-10 at one of the biggest RV rallies of the year — The Rally at Daytona Motor Speedway in Daytona, Fla.
With its endless design possibilities and functionality, Staron® Solid Surface was the ideal choice for helping to ¡°rescue¡± the 27-foot 1984 Winnebago Chieftain motorhome. As a participant in the event, Samsung is donating Staron® Solid Surface material for kitchen countertops, a bathroom shelf, a dash stereo panel and cup holders. Samsung will also provide fabrication of the materials through a local fabricator, PDM Products. The main countertop will be done in Pebble Blue, including a unique custom inlay in Pebble Frost to be revealed once the makeover is complete. The dash and cup holders will be done in Sanded Marine. Additionally, Samsung is donating a kitchen sink and bathroom bowl, both in Bright White. Staron® sinks and bowls can be integrated with Staron® countertops creating a continuous surface, providing a seamless finish, which is ideal for an easy-to-clean RV setting.

The Event:
On the same turf where the famous NASCAR Daytona 500 race takes place, RVtoday and Outdoor Life Network (OLN) will host an extreme RV makeover. The RV Rescue team will strip an old RV and
then have RV rescue designer, Melody Rose, lead a crew in refurbishing the interior and exterior. The
team will incorporate clever — even outlandish — design ideas with lots of new products to make the RV interesting and unique. And, they must do it all before the clock runs out in 72 hours. Sponsored by Dometic Corporation, the three-day makeover will be recorded for airing on two segments of the RVtoday TV show in June 2006 on OLN.
The Family: The Tarconish family of Barnesville, Penn. was selected from more than 3,000 entries to participate in the RV Rescue Makeover. The entire makeover process will equip their 27-foot 1984 Winnebago Chieftain motorhome with the latest in RV products and a new interior décor. The family will not see the RV until the project is complete and the final product is revealed live at the event.
